New Technology arrives

Hi all

This month will see the release of 2 new Detech coils

14" Ultra Sensing Mono  & 

15" Ultimate Spiral DD

Both these coils have performed sensational over the testing period

The 14 has amazed me with the small gold it's located at great depths.

The 15 Ultimate will give that extra depth

In testing this coil will out perform 18 round DD over the same 13 oz target by an outstanding 100-150 mm

With the ability to run in fine gold settings and DD has seen this 15" coil able to detect a .05 nugget @ 30-40 mm

 

This was . 25 @ approx 150mm

The Hunt

After a couple of days with no colour from close to camp.

Slavi and I decided to don all our gear and go out and investigate all the near by breakaways. 

Climbing to the top of the ridges gave us a great view of the surrounds. Looking for certain differences and places to hunt .

After a10 klm walk we were on our way back to camp fairly exhausted.

Detectors on our shoulders we walked onto an area with heaps of green stone with a spattering of quartz & Iron stone.

I decided to have a quick swing, about 2,3 paces in bang there it was,

This was the start of our patch.

Before we headed back to camp I'd picked up 10 grams and Slavi had 6 grams

The detectors felt light on our shoulders on the walk back.

We discussed our finds with others in camp and settled in for the night 

Absolutely champing at the bit for the next day.

The Wild West

Well  Slavi and I finally made our way over to the west.

In Laverton we caught up with Corrie and Gordon from CGS Prospecting.

Then headed out with the rest of the group to our location which was to be our home for the 10 days

There is something special about that salt and pepper scattered on the red soil.

After camp was set up we all saddled up and headed out to nail our first colour.

It didn't happen for us so we settled down to a night around the fire.

Success with the 15x10 Mono

A customer has been having great success with the 15x10 mono.

Pictured here with a 93 gram nugget found recently.

Congratulations .

I guess that's one less nugget out there for us.

New Detech EDS Gold Catcher

I had the opportunity yesterday to test the new VLF  EDS Gold Catcher from DETECH .

Headed out to a spot that I knew, which had produced small nuggets in the past this area would also give me a good indication of how this new machine would handle our mineralization .

Chose to hunt with the 6" DD so I could poke around the reef.  Balancing the machine is a relatively easy task.

A little chatter from the machine as we have come to expect from VLF. But I was pleasantly surprised with the smooth operation.

After picking up many small pieces of lead shot finally got a signal that was deeper than the top soil.

50 mm down and I extracted a nice little nugget of .76 gram.

The machine is very sensitive to small targets running at 28 kHz .

Will be spending more time with this machine in the next few weeks.
